SpeakType types what you say directly into the text box you're using: email, web forms, chat, CMS editors, comment boxes, even rich-text editors. No more copy and paste from a separate dictation site. How it works 1. Click into any text box. 2. Press Alt+Shift+D (or click the SpeakType icon and the mic). 3. Talk. Your words appear where your cursor is, with a small bubble showing what you're saying live. Features • Spoken punctuation: "comma", "period", "question mark", "exclamation point", "colon", "new line", "new paragraph", quotes and parentheses. • Editing by voice: "delete that" removes your last phrase, "cap next" capitalizes the next word, "stop listening". • Smart spacing and automatic capital letters at the start of sentences. • Your edits are safe: SpeakType inserts at the cursor and never rewrites what's already in the box. • Keeps listening through pauses and reconnects automatically. • 47 languages and accents, with spoken punctuation in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian. • Notepad: everything you dictate is also kept in the side panel, ready to copy or save, even on pages where extensions can't type. • Works with modern web apps (React, Vue…) and editors that use contenteditable. Privacy: SpeakType only works on the tab where you activate it (via the icon or shortcut), unless you choose to allow it on all sites. Speech is recognized by Chrome's built-in speech service. SpeakType itself does not record, store or send your audio, and has no account, ads or tracking. Your notepad stays in your browser.
