With a single click, listen to the content of any web page aloud, request a simplified summary, detect bias, or ask questions about what you are reading—all powered by the AI provider of your choice. Designed for heavy content consumers: students, professionals, people with reading difficulties, or anyone who prefers listening over reading. WHAT SPEAKITO CAN DO Read the page aloud: Extracts the main content of the page (ignoring menus, ads, and clutter) and reads it using a natural-sounding voice. Read documents other readers can't reach: Google Docs, Google Slides, PDF files (including the Chrome and Google Drive viewers), and Office 365 online documents. Explain it simply: Before reading, the AI re-explains the content in plain language—ideal for complex or technical topics. Detect bias: Analyzes the text for unsourced claims, slanted language, or potential biases, helping you read critically. Read while browsing: Turn on this mode and Speakito will automatically keep reading each new page you open, without having to ask again. Read tabs (playlist): Queue all your open tabs and listen to them one after another, like a podcast built from your reading backlog. Ask about the page: Open a chat and ask anything about the content. Responses are displayed in a clean, readable format. Read or ask about a selection: Highlight any text on the page and, from the context menu, ask Speakito to read it aloud or answer questions about it. Background audio: Playback continues even if you close the side panel. The toolbar icon indicates the current reading status. Export: Save generated text in .txt, .md, or .docx format. CUSTOMIZATION 16 color themes to personalize the panel to your liking. Selection of text-to-speech voices available on your system. Adjustable output language and reading speed. CHOOSE YOUR AI PROVIDER Speakito works with whichever provider you prefer: Gemini, Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, DeepSeek, or Ollama (local, no external connection required). You provide your own API key. PRIVACY Speakito does not use dedicated servers. Page content is sent solely to the AI provider you configure, using your own API key, which is stored locally in your browser. Requests are centralized within the extension's service worker, ensuring your key is never exposed to the content of the pages you visit. If you use Ollama, all processing happens entirely on your machine. GETTING STARTED Install Speakito and open the panel from the extensions toolbar icon. Open Settings, select your AI provider, and enter your API key (not required for Ollama). Click "Validate and fetch models" and select a model. QUÉ PUEDE HACER SPEAKITO • Leer la página en voz alta: extrae el contenido principal de la página (ignorando menús, anuncios y relleno) y lo lee con una voz natural. • Leer documentos que otros lectores no alcanzan: Google Docs, Google Slides, archivos PDF (incluido el visor de Chrome y de Google Drive) y documentos de Office 365 online. • Explícame simple: antes de leer, la IA reexplica el contenido en lenguaje sencillo, ideal para temas complejos o técnicos. • Detectar sesgo: analiza el texto en busca de afirmaciones sin fuente, lenguaje tendencioso o posibles sesgos, para que leas con criterio. • Léemelo navegando: activa este modo y Speakito seguirá leyendo automáticamente cada nueva página que abras, sin tener que pedirlo de nuevo. • Leer pestañas (playlist): encola todas tus pestañas abiertas y escúchalas una tras otra, como un podcast armado con tu propia lectura pendiente. • Preguntar sobre la página: abre un chat y pregunta lo que quieras sobre el contenido. Las respuestas se muestran con formato legible. • Leer o preguntar sobre una selección: selecciona cualquier texto en la página y, desde el menú contextual, pídele a Speakito que lo lea o que responda sobre él. • Audio en segundo plano: la reproducción continúa aunque cierres el panel lateral. El ícono de la barra te muestra el estado de la lectura. • Exportar: guarda el texto generado en formato .txt, .md o .docx. PERSONALIZACIÓN • 16 temas de color para adaptar el panel a tu gusto. • Selección entre las voces de síntesis disponibles en tu sistema. • Idioma de salida y velocidad de lectura ajustables. ELIGE TU PROVEEDOR DE IA Speakito funciona con el proveedor que prefieras: Gemini, Claude (Anthropic), OpenAI, DeepSeek u Ollama (local, sin conexión a servicios externos). Tú ingresas tu propia API key. PRIVACIDAD Speakito no tiene servidores propios. El contenido de la página se envía únicamente al proveedor de IA que tú configures, usando tu propia API key, que se guarda localmente en tu navegador. Las llamadas se centralizan en el service worker de la extensión, de modo que la key nunca queda expuesta al contenido de las páginas que visitas. Si usas Ollama, el procesamiento ocurre por completo en tu equipo. CÓMO EMPEZAR Instala Speakito y abre el panel desde el ícono de la barra de extensiones. Abre los Ajustes, elige tu proveedor de IA e ingresa tu API key (salvo Ollama, que es local). Pulsa "Validar y traer modelos" y selecciona un modelo. Ajusta idioma, voz y tema a tu gusto.
