Overview
Speed-read any article using RSVP with ORP highlighting
Read any article up to 3× faster without moving your eyes. Spead Read uses RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) to flash words one at a time at your chosen speed, eliminating the time lost to eye movement and re-reading. ORP (Optimal Recognition Point) highlighting marks the exact character where your brain recognizes each word fastest, so your eye always lands in the right place. HOW TO USE Press ⌥S on Mac (or Alt+S on Windows/Linux) on any webpage to start reading. You can also right-click anywhere and choose "Speed Read this page" from the context menu. To read a specific passage, select the text first — Spead Read will read only your selection. FEATURES • 100–1000 WPM continuous speed slider — find your perfect pace • ORP character highlighting — blue marker guides your eye to the recognition point • Play, pause, rewind, and skip controls • Keyboard shortcuts: Space to play/pause, Escape to close, Arrow keys to rewind/skip • Finish screen showing elapsed time and effective WPM • Popup to set your default speed and ORP preference — persists across sessions • Error toast when a page has no readable article — with a helpful tip • Works on Wikipedia, news sites, blogs, documentation, and more • Clean dark-themed overlay — no floating buttons, no clutter PRIVACY Spead Read reads content on the current page only when you trigger it. No data is collected, stored remotely, or shared.
