Sovereign is a website blocker and attention-management tool. When users navigate to a website that's on their custom block list, Sovereign denies access and suggests alternative activities. Access is not permanently blocked; instead, users are required to affirm, to Sovereign and by extension themselves, that this website is where they choose to place their time and attention. This buy-in step interrupts a users compulsive usage patterns, and gives time for their self control systems to kick in. Blocked sites are still accessible- users just need to make it clear to Sovereign (and themselves) that they're making the choice to scroll, and not operating on autopilot. Sovereign only uses local storage and does not have servers. All data is kept on users device.
