Overview

Auto-grade webpages with CRAAP and show a badge; click for details.

SourceScout is a Chrome extension that helps users evaluate the credibility of online information. When you visit a webpage, SourceScout automatically analyzes the site’s visible content and metadata to determine how trustworthy it appears. It checks for key credibility factors such as source transparency, publication reputation, writing quality, and factual consistency. Based on this analysis, it generates a credibility score that helps students, educators, and general users make informed decisions about whether to trust the information they’re reading. SourceScout is designed with privacy and accessibility in mind — no personal data is collected or shared. All analysis focuses only on the webpage being visited.
