Source Lens
Overview
Shows local provenance and platform context for sources cited by Google AI answers.
Source Lens helps you understand where Google’s AI-generated answers get their information. It adds source-provenance labels to citations in Google AI Search, showing who is being cited, what type of publisher they are, which platform the content comes from, and the institutional or regulatory environment behind the source. You can also switch the AI’s preferred source language in one click—for example between Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, or a cross-language search—while keeping the answer in your original language. This makes it easier to compare how different language environments shape the sources used by AI. Source Lens does not fact-check AI answers or tell you what to believe. Instead, it makes the sourcing behind AI answers more visible, so you can better understand the information environment the answer was built from. Install Source Lens if you want a clearer view of who Google AI is citing and an easier way to explore sources across different languages.
