SottMeet adds real-time AI translation to Google Meet, so you can talk to colleagues in different languages without switching tools. How it works • You speak in your language (e.g. Chinese) • Other participants hear the AI-translated version (e.g. English) • When they speak English, you hear an AI-translated version in Chinese • No setup per participant — only you need the extension Supported languages English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese. Built for Google Meet The translation is injected directly into the WebRTC audio stream, so other participants hear it through Meet's normal audio — no extra Bluetooth, no extra software for them. Cost-saving auto-pause When you switch away from the Meet tab for more than 60 seconds, the extension automatically pauses to stop billing. When you return, it resumes automatically. Access control This extension uses a server-side allowlist. Only invited email addresses can activate translation. The extension contains no API keys — all credential exchange happens through a secure backend proxy. Privacy • Audio is sent to OpenAI's Realtime Translation API only while translation is active • No audio recordings are stored • Only operational metadata (who used it, when, for how long) is logged for billing • See the privacy policy linked below for full details Requirements • Chrome 116+ (for MediaStreamTrackProcessor) • A signed-in Google account (for whitelist matching) This is an internal pilot tool — distributed unlisted.
