Overview
Maps of sources — floating panel (local IndexedDB, JSON sync with PWA)
SortMySources helps you collect and organize web research, notes, and file references into maps—named workspaces you control—without turning your browser into an endless list of unrelated bookmarks. What you can save Current tab as a link (http/https). Selected text from the page as a snippet, with page context when available. Pasted text as a quick note or quote. File or folder metadata (names, sizes, dates—what the browser can provide) to keep your local materials referenced alongside links. Why people use it Maps for real projects: one map per decision, course, client, trip, or side project—so everything stays grouped by intent, not by date alone. Search across maps when you remember a keyword but not which map it’s in. Share or move a map: export one map as JSON and import it elsewhere as a new map—handy for handing off sources or using the companion experience without replacing all your data. Advanced full backup is available when you need to export or restore everything in the extension (for migrations or your own backups). How it works SortMySources opens in a floating panel so you can keep browsing while you capture sources. Your data is stored locally in the browser (IndexedDB) on your device. PWA note The optional SortMySources PWA is a separate install with its own storage. You can move data between extension and PWA using JSON export/import when you need to.
