Sopio Browser MCP connects your Chrome browser to AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP)—including Cursor, Claude Desktop, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, and other MCP-compatible tools. You stay in control: pick exactly which tabs your AI can see and act on. Nothing is shared until you turn on “Connect” for a tab. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install the extension and open the popup. 2. Under Your Tabs, enable the tabs you want your AI to access. 3. Copy your personal AI Connection URL from the popup. 4. Add it to your AI tool as a Streamable HTTP MCP server (step-by-step guides are built in for Cursor, Claude, Windsurf, Copilot, and more). WHAT YOUR AI CAN DO (ON CONNECTED TABS ONLY) • Read page content and structure • Navigate, reload, and manage tabs • Click, type, scroll, and interact with pages • Capture screenshots and viewport info • Run scripted actions when you need deeper automation BUILT FOR TRANSPARENCY • Tab-level opt-in — only connected tabs are exposed • Activity log — see what commands your AI ran and whether they succeeded • Connection status — know when the relay is connected or reconnecting • Session stays on your device — your session ID is generated locally WHO IT’S FOR Developers, power users, and teams who want their AI assistant to work inside the real browser—not a separate sandbox—while keeping clear boundaries on which sites and tabs are in scope. REQUIREMENTS An MCP-compatible AI client and an internet connection to reach the Sopio relay. Your AI Connection URL is unique to your browser profile—treat it like a password and do not share it publicly. PRIVACY & PERMISSIONS This extension needs broad site access and debugging capabilities so your AI can interact with pages on tabs you explicitly connect. Chrome may show elevated permissions during review; we use them only to serve connected-tab automation you authorize.
