SonicBoost – Volume Booster & Equalizer
Overview
Boost any tab's volume up to 600% with a built-in anti-distortion limiter, bass/treble EQ and per-site memory. No ads. No tracking.
SonicBoost makes quiet tabs loud and clear. Boost any tab's volume up to 600%, with protection against distortion and simple sound controls. No ads, no tracking. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Boost or lower any tab from 0% to 600%, with one-tap presets (100, 200, 300, 400, 600) and a mute button. • Keep fullscreen working. The default "Page audio" engine boosts the video itself, so Chrome does not restrict fullscreen. • Reach protected players. When a site can't be boosted directly, SonicBoost switches to Compatibility mode, which boosts the tab's audio instead. In this mode Chrome shows its audio-capture indicator and limits fullscreen (F11 still works). • Pick a sound mode: Default, Voice boost (clearer speech), Bass boost, or Night mode, which evens out loud and quiet parts so dialogue stays clear and loud scenes don't blast. • Fine-tune bass and treble by up to 12 dB. • Avoid crackle. Soft clip (default) rounds off loud peaks cleanly. Smart limiter is for very loud videos. Or turn protection off for maximum loudness. • Remember settings per site, and restore your last volume for a site in one click. • Use the keyboard: Alt+Shift+Up / Down changes volume and Alt+Shift+M mutes (works in fullscreen). In the popup, press 0 to 6 for 0% to 600%. • See which tabs are playing audio and jump to them (optional; Chrome asks for permission first). HOW TO USE 1. Open a page with a video or audio and press play. 2. Click the SonicBoost icon and drag the slider, or tap a preset. 3. Choose a sound mode if you like. That's it. PRIVACY SonicBoost processes audio on your device and never records it. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it makes no network requests. Settings you choose to keep, such as the volume for a site, are stored locally in your browser and are never sent anywhere. Chrome may show a broad warning when you install ("Read and change all your data on all websites") because the tab-audio capture feature carries that label. SonicBoost uses it only on the tab where you click the icon or press a shortcut, and it never reads or sends page content. GOOD TO KNOW • Loud audio can damage hearing. Start low and turn it up gradually. SonicBoost warns you above 300%. • Chrome only lets an extension change a tab after you click its icon or press a shortcut, so saved levels re-apply when you open the popup or use a shortcut, not silently when a page loads. • Browser pages (chrome://) and the Chrome Web Store itself can't be boosted.
