Overview

Enables the dark theme already shipped in SonarQube's own stylesheet, on the self-hosted instances you name.

Detailed description SonarQube ships a dark theme inside its own stylesheet and gives you no way to switch it on. This extension switches it on. You name the instances you use — one address, or several — and Chrome asks you to approve each one as you add it. On those instances, and nowhere else, SonarQube comes up dark: projects, dashboards, the issues list, the source viewer, rule descriptions and the administration pages. FEATURES • Uses SonarQube's own dark colours rather than inverting the page, so quality gates, severities and syntax highlighting keep the meanings you already read them by. • Works with any self-hosted address, including one on a port or under a context path. • Switch it off and back on from the toolbar button. The badge reads ON, OFF, or SET while no instance has been named. • Nothing is granted at install. The extension can reach no site at all until you add one, and removing an instance hands the access straight back. • Keeps up when SonarQube redraws a page, and survives a browser restart. HOW TO USE 1. Install the extension. It opens its own settings page and asks where SonarQube is. 2. Type the address — localhost:9000, or https://sonar.example.com — and click Add. 3. Approve the permission Chrome asks for. 4. Open SonarQube and reload the tab. It comes up dark. 5. Click the toolbar button whenever you want the light theme back. PRIVACY Nothing is collected and nothing leaves your browser. There are no network requests, no analytics and no ads. One setting is stored on your own device: whether the theme is on or off. The addresses you name are held by Chrome as permissions rather than copied anywhere, and you can review or withdraw them from Chrome's own extensions page at any time. PERMISSIONS • Read and change your data on the sites you approve — the theme is applied by running on the SonarQube pages you name. Nothing is granted at install: Chrome asks about each address as you add it, and the extension runs on those addresses only. • Storage — remembers whether the theme is on or off, on your device. WHAT IT WORKS WITH SonarQube Server and SonarQube Community Build, which is where the dark palette lives. SonarQube Cloud already has a theme of its own. A SonarQube upgrade can occasionally leave a corner light; report it and it gets fixed. SonarQube Dark Mode is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by SonarSource S.A.
