Quantum-Safe Privacy Wallet

Sombra is a private, quantum-secure wallet for Solana. Two things make Sombra different from every other wallet on Solana: 1. PRIVATE MODE: Assets on Solana can be shielded with the Sombra wallet, encrypting sensitive payload inputs and enabling private transaction layer on-chain. Observers see that a transfer happened, however, they do not see the token type, amount, or recipient. Privacy becomes a mode users can easily toggle on and off. 2. BUILT WITH POST-QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY : Sombra uses post-quantum cryptographic primitives throughout the our software stack: Kyber-768 (NIST ML-KEM-768) for key encapsulation, ChaCha20-Poly1305 for symmetric encryption, and SHA-256 hash-based STARK zero-knowledge proofs. No elliptic-curve cryptography is used in the privacy layer, so the privacy guarantees do not depend on classical cryptography that quantum computers are expected to break. HOW PRIVACY WORKS Every transaction is authorized by a zero-knowledge proof of knowledge : there are no digital signatures in the privacy layer. The proof demonstrates that you own the funds you are spending without revealing which funds you own, who you are sending to, or how much. The on-chain record is an encrypted UTXO and a hash; nothing else is exposed. Proofs are generated using 1) Server-side proving or 2) Local proving mode to verifiably process user transactions without revealing the sensitive inputs. The first server-side proving mode uses NVIDIA Confidential Computing GPUs to generate proofs for each transaction. The second local proving mode leverages the user's own local machine to generate each transaction proof. HOW THE QUANTUM-SAFE STORY WORKS Most "post-quantum" privacy projects today are anchored on blockchains where signature schemes are elliptic-curve-based (vulnerable to quantum attack) and only parts of the tech stack are post-quantum. Sombra removes signatures from the privacy flow entirely and relies on post-quantum cryptography aligned with the NIST FIPS 203 ML-KEM standard, verified against NIST Known Answer Test vectors. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Send SPL tokens to other Solana users, like a normal Solana wallet. • Hold any SPL token privately • Send Sombra shielded tokens to other Sombra users with full amount, token-type, and recipient privacy • Deposit (onramp) SPL tokens from Solana into the Sombra private layer • Withdraw (offramp) SPL tokens from the private layer to any Solana address • Generate zero-knowledge proofs remotely (default, fastest) or locally on your own machine using the optional Sombra daemon Your private keys never leave the wallet, regardless of which proving mode you choose.
