Visually obscure selected text on web pages and control what remains visible on your screen. Soft Blackout is a Chrome extension that lets you select text on a page and then apply a visual blackout effect using the extension controls. You can also apply a page-level overlay to reduce visible content during screen sharing, presentations, or focused work. Soft Blackout runs locally in your browser and only applies effects when you trigger them. No accounts are required, and the extension does not send your browsing content to external servers.
