Watch together, wherever you are. Sofa keeps video playback in sync with friends and puts chat, emoji reactions and voice right over the video. Everyone watches on their own device, using their own access to the streaming service. WATCH TOGETHER • Play, pause and seek together. • Automatic drift correction helps keep your players aligned. • The room can wait when someone is buffering. • Watching alone? Sofa leaves your playback under your control. CHAT, REACTIONS AND VOICE • Chat over the video or open a chat panel. • Send smoothly floating emoji reactions. • Talk with built-in voice, using an open microphone or push-to-talk. • Optionally lower the video volume while friends speak. KEEP YOUR PLACE WITH BINGE CLUB • Use “Track this video” to save the current title, website and video link to your personal watch shelf. • Keep track of your next episode, even when you watch alone. • Mark an episode or film watched, with undo if you change your mind. • Connect your shelf to the Sofa Binge Club website in the same browser profile. • Search for TV shows, explore curated watch guides and choose where to start. • Open a saved video link, start a Sofa room or return to your existing room from your shelf. Binge Club is optional. You choose what to track and when to mark it watched. Your personal progress is not automatically shared with room participants. MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE • Move the toolbar using its dotted grip. • Leave space for subtitles and player controls. • Preview your changes in the settings page. • The overlay closes when you leave the room. • Shortcuts: Alt+C for chat, Alt+M for the microphone and Alt+R for reactions. YOUR ROOM, YOUR RULES • Share an invite link to bring friends into your room. • Anyone can control playback, or the host can lock the controls. • Follow the host to another video automatically, or turn automatic following off and choose when to follow. • Transfer hosting or remove participants. • Reuse your room code for future movie nights. PLAYER COMPATIBILITY Sofa works with supported streaming sites and compatible HTML5 video players. Compatibility varies by site and player. ACCESS ON ADDITIONAL SITES Click “Allow site access” in the Sofa popup, then approve Chrome’s permission prompt. Access is remembered in your browser and may include the service’s language subdomains. Some embedded players, ads and fullscreen modes may not work correctly. NO SOFA ACCOUNT REQUIRED Choose a nickname and colour, create a room and share the invite. You can also use Binge Club without joining a room. Sofa synchronises playback; it does not provide, record or rebroadcast video. Each participant needs their own access or subscription where required. Sofa is not affiliated with any streaming service.
