Overview

Organise W with private Circles, Catch Up, profile context, AT Protocol identity, saved posts and on-device translation.

SocialKit for W is an independent browser companion for people who want to get more from W without handing a third-party extension their W password. It helps you organise the people you care about, catch up when the feed gets busy, inspect the public AT Protocol identity beneath a handle, save useful posts, discover relevant accounts and read supported languages with Chrome's on-device translation APIs. What you can do • Circles — organise people into private local groups and build focused public feeds. • Catch Up — see a deterministic local summary of what changed in a Circle since you last checked. • Lens — view transparent, bounded public-profile context with methodology notes. • Identity — inspect handle → DID resolution, DID method, declared PDS and public PLC lifecycle context where available. No trust or reputation score. • Radar — discover public accounts relevant to a topic and keep candidates in your local workspace. • Network — inspect visible public interaction context. • Relationships — keep your own notes, tags and follow-up state private in the extension. • Saved — maintain a local library of posts you deliberately save. • Watch — manually refresh selected public profiles and compare factual local snapshots. No hidden background monitoring. • Translate — translate supported posts with Chrome's built-in on-device Language Detector and Translator APIs. • Country badges — optional badges based only on explicit public country declarations. SocialKit does not infer nationality from names, writing language, IP address or hidden identity data. Privacy by design Public-data features stay paused until you accept the in-product Privacy & Data notice. Circles, private notes, saved-post snapshots, follow-up state and settings are stored in Chrome extension local storage on your browser profile. SocialKit for W does not use Chrome Sync. When a feature needs current public information, the browser sends only the handle, DID, post reference or search term required for that feature directly to the disclosed public AT Protocol endpoints. SocialKit does not proxy those requests through a developer analytics server. There is no advertising SDK, no developer analytics backend, no W-password collection, no private-message access and no remote executable JavaScript. Built by Christopher McCabe — @christophermccabe.wsocial.eu. SocialKit for W is independent of and not endorsed by W Social AB. Permission justifications storage — stores privacy choices, settings and local SocialKit workspace data such as Circles, relationship notes/tags, saved posts and Watch state. sidePanel — provides the private Circles, Feed, Catch Up, Saved, People and Identity workspace. Optional alarms + notifications — requested only after the user explicitly enables priority notifications. public.api.bsky.app — returns public AT Protocol profiles, posts, graph/search results and handle resolution needed by user-requested Lens, Radar, Network, Circles, Identity and optional country-badge features. plc.directory — returns public DID documents and PLC lifecycle history used by Lens/Identity for did:plc accounts. wsocial.eu / www.wsocial.eu content-script scope — displays user-facing SocialKit controls and overlays only on W Social pages. Remote code No. All executable JavaScript is packaged inside the extension. Public endpoints return data, not executable code. Privacy-practices dashboard note Declare every current Chrome Web Store data category that accurately covers public website/profile/post data, user activity needed for requested features, and user-created local organisation/settings data. State that the data is used only for SocialKit for W's disclosed single purpose, is not sold, is not used for advertising or unrelated profiling, and is transferred only when necessary to the disclosed public AT Protocol endpoints for the feature the user invokes.
