Overview
Upgrades Quickbase Code Pages and Formulas with themes and error checking. Allows revision saving.
Snippy is a Chrome extension that upgrades the Quickbase coding experience by adding dark mode, optional version history, beautified formatting, live error checking, and a sarcastic personality. Whether you're editing JavaScript in a code page or formulas in a field, Snippy enhances Quickbase’s native editor and makes development faster, cleaner, and more enjoyable. Once installed, Snippy integrates directly into Quickbase. It appears automatically when you're editing a code page or formula field—no setup required. One of Snippy’s most useful features is its ability to automatically save every version of your code or formula to your own Google Drive folder, Microsoft OneDrive folder, or local storage, allowing you to restore any previous version at any time with just a click. Snippy also adds dark mode support and lets you select from a list of professional themes. Donors get access to the full library of CodeMirror 5 themes for light and dark modes, while free users get the defaults: Quickbase's theme for light mode and a brightened version for dark mode. A one-click “Beautify” button is available for both JavaScript and Quickbase formulas. It restructures messy code, aligns logic, and makes everything easier to read. If you don’t like the result, you can immediately revert back with a single click. Live error checking is built in as well. Snippy checks your JavaScript using JSHint and shows red or yellow markers for syntax problems. When editing formulas, Snippy mirrors Quickbase’s own validation rules and highlights issues as you type. This helps you catch and fix problems before they ever get saved. Snippy includes full search and replace tools with keyboard shortcuts. You can find text, replace individual matches, or replace all at once. It also supports font size customization, theme switching, and version control directly within the editor interface. Everything saves to your browser using Chrome sync, so your preferences follow you. The extension is completely free to use, but Snippy does have optional donor perks. Donors unlock all theme options, receive less snark and more praise from the extension, and even gain the ability to submit their own insults that may be shown to non-donors. If you don’t donate, Snippy will still work—but expect a few sarcastic comments about your beautification habits. Snippy was created by a long-time Quickbase developer who wanted better tools, less frustration, and just a little more sass in the workday. The extension only accesses Quickbase pages you’re editing and your Google Drive, OneDrive or local storage (if you opt into versioning). It never uploads your code anywhere else. Donor verification is handled via a simple unlock code system, with no invasive data collection. If you work in Quickbase, write code or formulas, and want a better editing experience with less eye strain and more control, Snippy was made for you. It’s fast, helpful, and occasionally insulting—just like your favorite coworker. Install Snippy today and make Quickbase editing the way it should’ve been all along.
