Overview

Click any element to copy clean, token-light HTML + its computed styles as a ready-to-paste "recreate this component" prompt.

Snip2Prompt turns any element on a web page into a ready-to-paste prompt for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Click the toolbar icon, hover to highlight, and click an element. Snip2Prompt copies a clean prompt that asks the model to recreate that exact component — in the framework you choose (plain HTML/CSS, React, React + Tailwind, Vue, or Svelte). What makes the output good: • It captures ONE element you pick — not the whole page. • It strips scripts, tracking attributes, inline junk, and bloat. • It inlines only the computed styles that differ from the parent element (the deltas), so you get the colors, spacing, borders, and fonts that matter without drowning the prompt in inherited defaults. • It shows a token estimate before you paste. Private by design: • 100% local. No servers, no account, no tracking, no network calls. • The only thing stored is your two UI preferences (framework + CSS toggle). Free. There's also a zero-install bookmarklet version at the project site.
