Capture, annotate, OCR and record your screen with smart scroll detection.
## Short Description Capture screenshots, record screens, annotate, extract text, edit videos, and manage captures directly in Chrome. ## Detailed Description SnapPilot is an all-in-one Chrome extension for screenshots, screen recording, annotation, OCR text extraction, video editing, and visual communication. Whether you are reporting bugs, creating product documentation, recording tutorials, preparing demos, capturing long web pages, or explaining something visually, SnapPilot helps you capture, edit, and share content faster from your browser. ## What SnapPilot Helps You Do SnapPilot brings multiple capture and recording workflows into one simple Chrome extension: * Capture visible screenshots * Capture selected regions * Capture full-page screenshots * Capture inner scrolling areas in complex web apps * Record browser tabs, windows, desktops, or selected regions * Add microphone audio to recordings * Add camera overlay to recordings * Generate microphone-based subtitles * Edit and annotate screenshots * Edit and annotate videos * Blur sensitive information before sharing * Extract text from screenshots using OCR * Save screenshots and recordings in a local gallery * Reopen saved images and videos in editors * Download captures in supported formats * Copy screenshots or edited images to the clipboard * Use a teleprompter helper while recording ## Screenshot Capture SnapPilot supports different screenshot modes for different workflows. Use Visible Area Capture when you need a quick screenshot of what is currently visible in the browser tab. Use Region Capture when you only want to capture a specific area, such as a form, card, modal, table, dashboard section, error message, or selected UI element. Use Full-Page Capture when you want to capture an entire scrollable page. Use Inner Scroller Capture for modern web apps that contain scrollable sections inside the page, such as dashboards, CRMs, inboxes, side panels, data tables, and application containers. ## Image Annotation and Editing After capturing a screenshot, SnapPilot lets you mark it up before sharing. You can add arrows, rectangles, circles, lines, highlights, blur areas, text, counters, and freehand drawings. This makes it easier to explain issues, highlight important areas, create step-by-step instructions, or hide sensitive information. SnapPilot is useful for support teams, QA teams, developers, product managers, trainers, and anyone who needs to communicate visually. ## Screen Recording SnapPilot supports screen recording workflows for browser tabs, windows, desktops, and selected areas. You can use recordings for: * Product demos * Tutorials * Training videos * Bug reports * Walkthroughs * Internal documentation * Customer support explanations * Feature demonstrations Depending on your selected recording mode and browser support, you can include microphone audio, camera overlay, and microphone-based subtitles. ## Video Editor After recording, SnapPilot can open your video in the video editor. The video editor helps you preview, trim, annotate, and export recordings. You can add visual explanations such as arrows, rectangles, highlights, blur areas, text annotations, and captions where supported. This helps turn raw recordings into clearer, more polished videos. ## OCR Text Extraction SnapPilot includes OCR support so you can extract text from screenshots or images. This is helpful when text cannot be selected directly from a page, image, app screen, screenshot, error message, or document preview. OCR processing is handled locally using bundled OCR assets. ## Local Gallery SnapPilot includes a local gallery where you can save and manage screenshots and recordings. You can view saved captures, delete items, download files, and reopen supported images or videos in the editor. Gallery items are stored locally in your browser or device. ## Teleprompter Helper SnapPilot includes a teleprompter helper for users who want to read a script while recording. This is useful for tutorials, demos, sales walkthroughs, product videos, educational content, and structured presentations. The teleprompter includes reading controls such as font size, auto-scroll, speed, theme, soft visual mode, and clear script. Note: Because SnapPilot runs as a Chrome extension, teleprompter window behavior depends on browser and operating system limitations. It is not a native desktop transparent overlay. ## Microphone-Based Subtitles SnapPilot can generate subtitles from microphone input when subtitles are enabled. Subtitles are designed for voice narration and may depend on browser speech recognition availability, microphone quality, language support, and background noise. Subtitles are microphone-based and may not reliably transcribe system audio, tab audio, meeting audio, or speaker audio unless that sound is captured through the microphone. ## Privacy-Friendly, Local-First Design SnapPilot is designed with a local-first approach. Screenshots, recordings, OCR processing, gallery items, teleprompter text, and user preferences are handled locally in the browser or device wherever possible. SnapPilot does not sell user data and does not use captured content for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics. For full details, please review the SnapPilot Privacy Policy. ## Common Use Cases SnapPilot is useful for: * Bug reporting * QA documentation * Product walkthroughs * Support explanations * Training videos * Customer demos * Internal documentation * Tutorial creation * Visual feedback * Screen capture workflows * Extracting text from screenshots * Blurring sensitive information before sharing ## Who Can Use SnapPilot SnapPilot is built for: * Developers * QA testers * Product managers * Support teams * Trainers * Educators * Founders * Sales teams * Documentation teams * Operations teams * Anyone who needs to capture, record, explain, or share screen content clearly ## Important Notes Some browser pages, system pages, protected websites, or restricted Chrome pages may not allow capture or recording due to browser security limitations. Window, desktop, camera, audio, subtitle, and teleprompter behavior may vary depending on Chrome, operating system permissions, browser support, and selected recording source. Users are responsible for ensuring they have permission to capture or record any content, meeting, screen, tab, window, or application.
