A small snail moves slowly on a green leaf, highlighted by its extremely eye-catching spiral-patterned shell. Notable features: The shell is clearly spiraled, with interwoven brown, yellow, and cream bands – creating a delicate maze-like spiral. The soft gray-brown body has velvet-like ridges, which help the snail cling firmly to the surface. Two pairs of antennae extend forward: the long upper antennae have eyes at the tip, the short lower antennae are used to sense the environment. The shell has a dark rim around the edge – a sign of the species Cepaea nemoralis.
