High-performance download manager with multi-threaded acceleration
Snag connects Chrome to the Snag desktop download manager. Use the extension to detect downloadable files and media on the page you are viewing, review the available items, and send the download you choose to the desktop app on the same computer. Key features: • Detects direct files and common HLS and DASH media streams • Shows available media in a focused popup and page overlay • Sends selected tasks to the desktop app through Chrome Native Messaging • Preserves the request context required by authenticated or protected downloads • Offers a right-click action and a keyboard shortcut • Lets you disable media detection for individual sites Snag is local-first. It does not run an advertising, analytics, account, or cloud synchronization service. Browsing and download information is used only to provide the user-facing detection and download workflow. The Snag desktop application must be installed and running for native downloads. Download only content you own or are otherwise authorized to save.
