SN Dot-Walk Columns

Add dot-walked fields (e.g. caller_id.manager.email) to a personalized ServiceNow list from the Personalize List Columns dialog.

Get the related ServiceNow data you need into the list you already use. Add the caller's manager, the CI's owner, or another related field you are allowed to read to a ServiceNow list — then export it with the normal list export. No report. No admin. Open any classic list, click the gear (Personalize List Columns), and use the new control: • Type a path such as caller_id.manager.email and press Enter, or • Click Browse to pick fields by label. Reference fields are marked; dot-walk into them, use the breadcrumb or "Back to the root table" to step back, and add the field. Select a related column you already have and Browse jumps to it. • Choose Contextual ("Caller › Manager › Email") or Compact ("Email") column headers from the Browse panel. The column is placed right after its parent column (or after the parent's existing related columns), so "Manager" sits next to "Caller"; if the parent is not in your list it is added at the end. It is saved to your personal list layout when you click OK — exactly as if you had chosen a built-in field. It affects only your own view, requires that your instance lets you personalize list columns, and shows values only for fields you already have permission to read. Works in UI16 and in Next Experience with classic lists. Does not apply to Workspace lists. Privacy: it communicates only with the ServiceNow instance already open in your browser, using your existing authenticated HTTPS session. No ServiceNow data is sent to the developer or third parties.
