Smoother video: SmoothVid adds frames in real time on your graphics card, up to your screen refresh rate.

SmoothVid makes online video look smoother by adding new in-between frames in real time, right inside the player. A 24, 25 or 30 fps video plays at a fluid 60 fps (or up to your screen's refresh rate). HOW TO USE • YouTube: click the SmoothVid button in the player's control bar. • Other sites: hover over a video and click the round SmoothVid button. • Or click the SmoothVid icon in the Chrome toolbar. FEATURES • Real-time frame interpolation on your graphics card (WebGPU), with a WebGL fallback. • Frame rate: Auto (matches your screen) or choose from 48 up to 240 fps. Rates above your screen's refresh rate are generated and blended into each refresh for a smooth, cinematic look. • Quality: Auto adapts to your PC; or pick High, Balanced or Fast. • Motion blur, artifact masking, audio sync. • Built-in stats show the real frame rate and GPU time on your PC. • Never makes video worse: if the source is already smooth, or your PC can't keep up, the original video plays untouched. REQUIREMENTS • A graphics card with hardware acceleration turned on in Chrome (Settings › System › Use graphics acceleration). • Works with regular web video. DRM-protected streaming services (such as Netflix or Disney+) cannot be processed by any extension. PRIVACY SmoothVid works entirely on your computer. It does not collect, store or send any data. Your settings are saved in Chrome's own sync storage.
