SMIL Manual PDF Downloader helps authorized SMIL users save PDF manuals that are already available through their own SMIL account. HOW IT WORKS 1. Sign in to manual.smil.com normally. 2. Open a PDF manual. 3. Refresh the document page once. 4. Open the extension. 5. Click “Download PDF.” 6. The extension downloads the authorized PDF sections, verifies them, combines them, and sends the completed file to Chrome Downloads. FEATURES • Detects the PDF currently open in SMIL • Uses the user’s active SMIL session • Automatically determines the complete PDF size • Downloads all required byte ranges • Verifies every downloaded section • Confirms that the assembled file is a valid PDF • Uses the original document filename • Displays download progress • Detects expired or rejected sessions • Does not request or store a SMIL username or password PRIVACY The extension operates locally in the browser. Authentication information captured from the active SMIL session is used only to download the document selected by the user. It is kept temporarily in Chrome session storage and is not sent to the extension developer or any third-party analytics service. IMPORTANT • A valid SMIL account is required. • The user must already have permission to view the document. • This extension does not bypass SMIL access controls. • The source SMIL tab should remain open during the download. • Very large PDF manuals may require substantial browser memory. • This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially supported by SMIL, MG Motor, SAIC Motor, or their affiliates.
