SmartWatch Analyze the current YouTube video transcript against your goal with Gemini. SmartWatch analyzes the transcript of the currently open YouTube watch page against a goal you enter and returns a Gemini-generated analysis in the Chrome side panel. Open a YouTube watch page, enter a goal, and click Analyze. SmartWatch retrieves the current video's accessible transcript or captions, sends the transcript plus your goal to Google Gemini using your Gemini API key, and shows a concise analysis in the side panel. SmartWatch only operates on YouTube watch pages with accessible transcript or caption data. It does not download video or audio, inject ads, sell data, or send data to a developer-operated backend. Privacy And Data Use When you click Analyze, SmartWatch reads the transcript of the current YouTube video and sends that transcript plus your goal to Google Gemini through the Generative Language API. The extension uses your Gemini API key for that request. SmartWatch handles these data categories: - Authentication information: your Gemini API key. - User-provided content: your goal and custom prompt template. - Website content: transcript text from the current YouTube video. - Web browsing activity: whether the active tab is a supported YouTube watch page, plus the current YouTube URL/video ID. - Settings data: selected Gemini model and local extension settings. SmartWatch stores the Gemini API key, selected model, saved goal, and prompt template locally in Chrome extension storage.
