Analyze YouTube videos against your goals with Gemini.

SmartWatch helps you decide whether a YouTube video is useful for your current goal. Open a YouTube watch page and open SmartWatch. The extension prepares the video's accessible transcript or captions locally and temporarily caches the prepared transcript in Chrome session storage. Enter a goal and click Analyze to send the transcript and your current goal directly to Google Gemini using your own API key. The returned analysis appears in Chrome's side panel. Main features: - Analyze the current YouTube video against a goal you enter. - Get a relevance score, useful insights, next steps, and caveats. - Prepare and reuse the transcript before analysis. - Use your own Gemini API key. - Choose a Gemini model preset or enter a custom model string. - Customize the analysis prompt template. Data handling: - Your Gemini API key, saved goal, selected model, and custom prompt template are stored locally in Chrome extension storage. - Prepared transcripts are cached locally for up to one hour and cleared with the browser session. - Only the current transcript and goal are sent to Google Gemini after you click Analyze. - SmartWatch has no developer-operated backend and does not sell data or use it for advertising. SmartWatch works only on YouTube watch pages with accessible transcript or caption data. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or misleading.
