LaTeX popup previews, autocomplete, source tools, and per-document Nextcloud integration for CollabTeX-compatible editors.

SmartTeX enhances CollabTeX-compatible LaTeX editors with interactive previews and editing tools directly inside the browser. SmartTeX provides live previews for equations, tables, and figures while you work in the source editor. Equations are rendered locally with KaTeX. Table previews support common LaTeX table environments can be formatted with simple buttons, e.g. to add borders, move columns etc. New in this version: add comments and highlight text for revisions! Reference and citation tools make navigation and editing faster: Autocomplete for \ref, \eqref, and common citation commands Previews for referenced equations, figures, tables, and sections Background parsing of project bibliography files Search by citation key, title, author, journal, year, keyword, or DOI Navigation back to the previous source position after following a reference Automatic handover to Smart Citations when that extension is active SmartTeX can highlight LaTeX structures directly in the source editor, including environments, section lines, captions, labels, references, inline equations, and \nonumber or \notag. Every category can be enabled separately and assigned an individual color. Optional Nextcloud integration allows project files to be uploaded from Nextcloud and linked to their source. Linked files can be updated individually, together, or automatically without replacing the normal CollabTeX project workflow. An experimental full-document live preview can render the active LaTeX document directly in the PDF pane. This beta feature is disabled by default. Equation rendering, table processing, and bibliography parsing are performed locally in the browser. SmartTeX is independent of Smart Citations and can be used separately.
