SmartRe for Gmail™ is a simple Chrome extension that makes Gmail replies cleaner and easier to read by formatting quoted text and original-message headers. 🚀 What It Does SmartRe for Gmail automatically formats the quoted part of a Gmail reply. It is designed for people who frequently reply to emails in Gmail and prefer cleaner, more structured reply formatting. ✨ Key Features • Clean quoted text in Gmail replies • Remove the visible left quote bar and extra spacing in rich text replies • Remove leading quote markers in Gmail plain text reply mode • Rewrite Gmail’s one-line reply header into an Outlook-style “Original message” header • Add sender, date, subject, and To lines when they can be detected • Keep Gmail’s quote structure intact in rich text mode • Turn quote formatting and header rewriting on or off from the popup • English and Japanese support 🆕 New in v1.1.0 • Added a mode to remove quoted original messages from Gmail replies 🆕 New in v1.2.0 • Added editable reply header templates 💡 Why You’ll Love It Gmail replies can become visually noisy, especially when quoted content and reply headers are included. If enabled, it also rewrites the original message header into a readable multi-line format. 🔒 Privacy & Security SmartRe for Gmail runs inside your browser. It does not send Gmail message contents, profile email addresses, account display names, extension settings, or any other user data to the developer’s servers or to third-party services. The extension uses the signed-in Chrome profile email address only to add the To line when rewriting the reply header. No account or login is required. 🔧 How to Use 1. Install SmartRe for Gmail. 2. Open Gmail. 3. Click Reply on an email. 4. SmartRe automatically formats the quoted content and reply header. 5.
