SmartPace - AI YouTube Smart Speed

AI analyzes YouTube captions and automatically sets per-segment playback speed.

SmartPace is a side panel extension that uses Anthropic Claude AI to analyze YouTube video captions and automatically set the optimal playback speed for each segment. ■ How it works 1. Open any YouTube video and click the SmartPace icon — the side panel opens. 2. Sign in with Google and click "Analyze" — no API key needed. (Free plan: 30/month, 5/day) 3. AI splits the video into 6~12 segments: - Key segments (1.1~1.3×) — first appearance of important concepts - Normal segments (1.9~2.1×) — explanations, examples - Filler segments (up to 2.0×) — intros, outros, repetition, ads 4. As playback crosses segment boundaries, speed switches automatically. ■ Modes Pick the analysis tone that matches the content: - Lecture / Education - Documentary - Talk / Interview - Tutorial - News ■ Sign in & free analysis Just sign in with Google and start — no API key needed. Free plan limits: - 30 analyses per month / 5 per day - Videos up to 30 minutes: counts as 1 analysis - Videos 30–60 minutes: counts as 2 analyses - Videos over 60 minutes: not analyzed on the free plan (use BYOK) Captions are sent to SmartPace's secure backend, analyzed by Claude AI, and only the segment plan is returned. ■ Advanced: Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) Power users can switch on "Advanced" to use their own Anthropic API key instead. The key is stored only in Chrome local storage and calls go directly to Anthropic from your browser, billed to your own account.
