SmartMarks AI helps you find, review, and organize open tabs and bookmarks while keeping you in control of every change. WHAT IT DOES FIND YOUR PLACE AGAIN * Filter by native folder, website, title, and saved/access dates * Group a live view by website, folder, saved month/year, or access month/year without moving bookmarks * Search local tags and short notes; keep reusable saved views * Missing access dates remain unknown; optional SmartMarks opening counts are separate from browser history * Search bookmarks and open tabs across your browser windows in one local view * Find pages by title, website, or bookmark folder, with small spelling mistakes supported * Use quoted phrases and site filters, then choose best-match, recently accessed, or alphabetical results * Switch to a tab that is already open, or open the selected bookmark * Save recurring searches with their filters and sort order on this device * Open Find with a configurable Chrome keyboard shortcut; see your current assignment in Search tips & privacy * Search with your keyboard using arrow keys and Enter; missing access dates are shown as unavailable TABS * Group open tabs by website domain or AI-suggested topic * Review and close duplicate tabs in a selected browser window * Review tabs by window and search by title or URL BOOKMARKS * Browse and search your bookmark tree * Find duplicate bookmarks using normalized URL and title matching * Organize bookmarks with Smart Categories, Priority Sweep, Timeline Sort, Domain Consolidation, or Fresh Folders * Find empty folders without automatically deleting them * Preserve separator bookmarks that match built-in or user-defined patterns SAFETY AND REVIEW * Create manual Safety Snapshots of your bookmark tree * Automatically create a snapshot before duplicate removal or bookmark reorganization * Choose source and destination folders; preview paths and URLs, then choose which groups to apply * Snapshots recover bookmarks only, with five-snapshot/seven-day normal retention and protected unresolved recovery records * Restore, compare, export, or delete snapshots; re-import is limited to backups from the same SmartMarks installation so foreign Chrome bookmark IDs cannot overwrite local data AI OPTIONS SmartMarks selects from the modes you allow: * ON-DEVICE AI: Chrome's built-in AI can categorize titles and URLs locally on supported Chrome devices. * CLOUD AI (Premium, opt-in, adults 18+ in supported regions): For cloud-powered bookmark organization or tab grouping, the relevant bookmark or non-incognito open-tab titles and URLs are sent over HTTPS through a Cloudflare Worker to Google Gemini. Cloud AI remains off unless you consent and confirm you are at least 18. Regional availability is checked using the connection country provided by Cloudflare. You can disable Cloud AI in Settings. * SMART RULES: Domain and keyword rules work locally and provide a fallback when an AI model is unavailable. LOCAL LIBRARY TOOLS * Save selected tabs to a reviewed folder; resume selected pages or switch to exact matching open tabs * Opt in to a small review queue for new bookmarks, with a snapshot before a requested move * Export standard bookmark HTML and local annotation data separately * Optionally check selected links on one website; reports never delete bookmarks PRIVACY * SmartMarks does not read page content, passwords, cookies, or form data. * Optional link checks request access only to the website you choose. No arbitrary-site access is requested at installation. * Find searches metadata locally; it does not read page content or Chrome browsing history, send search queries to AI, or automatically save a search history. * Searches you explicitly save stay in device-local extension storage and can be deleted from Find. * Local organization, duplicate detection, settings, and snapshots stay in Chrome extension storage on your device (some settings may sync through Chrome if browser sync is enabled). * Cloud AI data sharing is limited to the title and URL needed for the user-requested AI action and is disclosed before opt-in. * ExtensionPay and Stripe handle premium account and payment flows under their own policies. * No advertising or transmitted behavioral analytics. See the full privacy policy: https://smartmarksai.com/privacy FREE AND PREMIUM Free includes local search, live filters and groups that leave Chrome folders unchanged, up to 500 saved views per device (a local capacity limit), tags and notes, reviewed tab saving/resuming, optional local review and opening counts, selected-link reports, Smart Rules and custom categories, up to 50 on-device AI items per day on supported Chrome devices, and Safety Snapshots. Premium removes the Free on-device AI daily cap and enables optional Cloud AI with your consent. Cloud AI allows 50 requests per hour and 500 per day, with up to 10 items per request. PERMISSIONS * bookmarks: display, search, move, organize, snapshot, restore, and remove user-approved duplicate bookmarks. * tabs: read open-tab titles, URLs and available access timestamps for local search and display, activate tabs, group tabs, detect duplicates, and close user-approved duplicate tabs. * tabGroups: create and label Chrome tab groups. * storage: save settings, views, local tags/notes, optional opening counts and review state, operation state, cached results, consent, and snapshot metadata. * alarms: prune expired snapshots while retaining protected recovery records. * sidePanel: open the full SmartMarks manager beside the current page. * optional website access: user-requested link checks on a selected site; access can be removed afterward. * extensionpay.com access: run the ExtensionPay integration on ExtensionPay payment and login pages. Optional site permission is used for selected HEAD link checks only. SmartMarks does not download page content, follow redirects, send sign-in cookies, or delete bookmarks from a link report. The selected website can observe your request and IP address. Blocked or unknown results are not proof that a bookmark is dead. QUESTIONS?
