Overview

An extension to enhance the SmartAdmin login experience.

Purpose This extension’s primary role is to assist the SmartAdmin desktop app (University Capstone Project) by enabling the app to receive login requests initiated from the browser (deep-link login). Convenience features such as auto-saving/filling username & password and auto-generating TOTP are provided as optional extras to speed up testing and routine admin sign-ins. Key features • Deep-link support: launch the SmartAdmin PC app via a browser URL (e.g., smartadmin://login?...) to perform app-side login. • Optional auto-save and auto-fill of SmartAdmin username and password on the site. • Optional TOTP generation and auto-fill for 2FA (configurable). • Configurable behavior via popup settings: auto-login, auto-fill OTP, remember credentials, clear-after-login, daily cleanup, debug mode. • Visual UI to view credential status and trigger app login flows. • Background checks for optional credential cleanup (per settings). • Data stays local: all credentials and settings are stored only in chrome.storage.local. Why Install it • Primary benefit: enable smooth integration between browser workflows and your SmartAdmin desktop app (one-click or automated browser → app login). • Secondary benefits: save time with optional auto-fill and OTP automation, and reduce manual steps for QA and operations teams. • Configurable and transparent: users control storage and cleanup behavior. Privacy & storage All stored data (credentials, TOTP secret, settings) remains in the user’s browser via chrome.storage.local. No credentials are sent to external servers. Users can clear stored data anytime via settings.
