Smart Ultrawide Video
Overview
Auto-detects and removes black bars from fullscreen videos
Make fullscreen video fit ultrawide, super-ultrawide, and portrait displays without blindly stretching the picture. Smart Ultrawide Video analyzes video frames locally, detects black bars baked into the image, and applies the smallest appropriate zoom while the video is fullscreen. It adapts when the fullscreen viewport changes and restores the page's original video styling when fullscreen ends. Features: - Automatic black-bar detection for fullscreen HTML5 video - Works with landscape, ultrawide, super-ultrawide, and portrait viewports - Never applies a zoom below 100% - Adjustable frame-analysis frequency and zoom-change tolerance - Configurable zoom-out delay and optional zoom animation - Toolbar on/off control and Alt+Shift+U keyboard shortcut - No analysis or visual modification outside fullscreen - No accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking, or network service Compatibility depends on the website exposing a readable HTML5 video frame. Some DRM-protected or cross-origin players may prevent browser extensions from reading pixels; in that case Smart Ultrawide Video leaves the video unchanged.
