Smart Tab Groups organises your browser tabs automatically — no manual sorting, no drag-and-drop. Open a tab and it lands in the right group instantly. HOW IT WORKS Each group has a list of keywords. When a tab finishes loading, Smart Tab Groups checks its URL and title against those keywords and moves the tab into the matching group. If no match is found, the tab stays ungrouped — nothing is moved unexpectedly. Import existing groups — if you already have Chrome tab groups, Smart Tab Groups detects them and offers to import them with one click. RAM optimisation — optionally put inactive grouped tabs to sleep after a configurable idle time to reduce memory usage. Full customisation — edit group names, colours, and keywords. Add new groups. Everything is stored locally, nothing is sent to any server. Light and dark theme — the popup follows your system appearance automatically. PRIVACY Smart Tab Groups reads tab URLs and titles locally to match against your keyword lists. No data is collected, stored remotely, or shared with any third party. All settings are saved in chrome.storage.local on your device only. The extension requests access to all URLs solely to read the URL of each tab for keyword matching. It does not inject scripts into pages, modify page content, or track browsing history beyond what is needed for grouping.
