Choose a contextual angle such as Smart, Agree, Question, Witty, Pushback, or Complement for each generation. CONTEXT THAT UNDERSTANDS THE POST When you choose Generate or Enhance Reply, Smart Reply X reads the exact post attached to that composer, including visible thread text, quoted posts, media descriptions, link cards, and polls. Visual context is on by default: the extension briefly captures the visible tab, crops it to the target post card, and sends only that crop for reply generation. The full page, X sidebar, composer draft, and Smart Reply controls are excluded. Visual context can be turned off at any time in the side panel. A DELIBERATE REPLY LOOP 1. Focus an X reply composer. 2. Start typing or generate from the conversation. 3. Review three clearly labeled options. 4. Select one to insert it. 5. Edit freely and post using X's own controls. Smart Reply X never auto-posts. A five-second Undo restores the draft after insertion when the composer still supports it. PERMISSIONS • identity: opens the secure Smart Reply X sign-in flow. • storage: keeps session and interface preferences for the extension. • sidePanel: shows account, voice, plan, and iPhone-bundle controls. • activeTab / x.com host access: reads the visible post and conversation context and captures a temporary post-card crop only after you request a reply in X. • smart-reply.replit.app host access: signs in, loads the shared profile and allowance, and requests reply generation from the Smart Reply X backend. Post context, the optional cropped image, and the active voice profile are sent to Smart Reply X only after you allow cloud processing in the side panel and request generation. The crop is processed transiently and is not saved in Chrome storage, Smart Reply X logs, analytics, or the Smart Reply X database. Raw Chrome generation traces are disabled. Reply results may be kept encrypted for 15 minutes for retry recovery, then removed within 15 more minutes; they are not exposed to an administrator reading interface. Selected reply history supports the user-facing history feature, not human quality review or advertising, and is removed on account deletion. OpenAI processes submitted cloud-generation context. Credentials for third-party model providers are never requested or stored by the extension.
