Allow me to choose a default tab where the sound will play, instead of the last opened tab
Choose a tab to be the default one where the sound is not muted when switching away from any other tab. That is, when defocusing all tabs, the default (selected) tab continues to play automatically without needing to return to it and refocus on it for it to resume playing. However, when focusing on a tab with sound, the sound plays for the focused tab and mutes the default one. Once you defocus from the currently focused tab, the default tab resumes playing automatically.

I know you are having problems recently with Smartmute and I hop you get if fixed soon.
It's a great extension and it's appreciated by myself and many others.

Smart mute stopped working properly
I have used this for a very long time and just recently it stopped working properly. I operates erratly, sometimes it works and then it doesn't. I hope it gets fixed soon, I really enjoy using it. I use it in the latest version of Chrome.

Smart Mute stops working after restart
The Smart Mute stops working after I restart my PC (Win 10 Pro x64, Google Chrome browser). This happened several times.

No longer works, or at least "silent mode" does not work
This extension appears to be broken. Enable Smart Mute ticked on, "silent mode" ticked on, new sounds still play from new tabs on sites i've never visited before. Used to be so great, please fix it!

this extension has been acting up lately,
video plays on current tab but tab remains mute.
