Overview
Enter = new line, Cmd+Enter = send. Stops accidental submits in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity & 7 more.
Stop accidentally sending half-finished prompts to AI chatbots. If you write complex, multi-line prompts with code snippets, error logs, or detailed instructions, you know the pain: one accidental Enter keystroke sends an incomplete prompt, wastes tokens, and breaks your flow. Smart Enter fixes this with one simple flip: Enter creates a new line instead of submitting. When you're ready to send, press Cmd+Enter on Mac or Ctrl+Enter on Windows. Shift+Enter continues to work as a new line, unchanged. The extension works across all major AI chat platforms and uses a Site Adapter architecture that handles each platform's unique editor implementation. This means it stays reliable even when sites update their UI. Privacy and security are built in from the ground up. The extension requests zero Chrome permissions, makes no network connections, collects no data, and runs entirely locally in your browser. The complete source code is approximately 350 lines of vanilla JavaScript and is fully open source. Built by Steve Derviniotis using AI-assisted development.
