Smart Ad Placer for YouTube puts your mid-roll ad breaks where they belong: in the actual silences of your own videos, evenly spaced, instead of in the middle of a sentence. It works inside the YouTube Studio video editor, on your own channel. Nothing is downloaded, nothing is uploaded, and you always review and save the result yourself. WHAT IT DOES • Analyze audio — reads the audio waveform that Studio already draws in the ad-break editor, detects the real silences, and proposes a break roughly every 3 minutes (configurable), snapping each one to the nearest silence within ±45 seconds. If no silence exists in that window, the slot is placed anyway and clearly flagged so you can decide. • Apply to Studio — after an explicit confirmation step, fills the proposed timestamps into Studio's editor while showing progress and a Stop button. You review the result and press Save yourself. The extension never saves for you. • Fill missing — finds the stretches of the video left without a break, because you deleted some or Studio rejected them, and repairs only those gaps, leaving your existing breaks untouched. • Red-break repair — YouTube marks some breaks as interruptive. The extension shows the live count, removes those specific breaks one by one with a per-row verification so a good break can never be clicked by mistake, and remembers the rejected positions per video so they are never proposed again. • Settings — target interval, silence threshold, snap tolerance, ads per gap, and a panel whose size and position stay where you left them. PRIVACY No servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no network requests. The extension runs only on studio.youtube.com and reads only the editor's own waveform and ad-break list. Your settings sync through your own Google account via Chrome's storage; the rejected-position list stays on your machine. Nothing else is stored and nothing is ever sent anywhere.
