Sluka marks the words you don't know yet on any page you read, and shows the meaning when you hover. It is a reading tool for learning a language by reading and listening a lot. - Every unknown word on the page is lit up; words you are learning are marked in shades, words you know are left alone. - Hover or click a word for its meaning. The dictionaries ship inside the extension, so looking a word up works offline. - 24 languages, including Chinese, Cantonese and Japanese with readings above the characters. - Subtitles too: YouTube, Netflix and other video sites, with the same marking and a translation line. - Books: open EPUB and PDF files and read them with the same marking. - Your vocabulary and statistics stay on your own devices. There is no account and no login. Sync with Sluka's Android app runs directly over your own wifi. - Optional AI check and cloud voices, with your own API key from the provider you choose. What leaves your computer: Words the dictionary doesn't have, phrases you select, and subtitle lines a video's site doesn't translate are sent to Google Translate. This is on by default and can be switched off in Settings. Everything else that leaves is listed at https://sluka.app/privacy. Price: Sluka is free to use. The free version stops saving new words once you track 1,000 in a language; everything else keeps working. Lifting that limit is a one-time licence of $15 bought on sluka.app: no subscription, no account.
