SlopWatch - The online watch for AI-generated content
Overview
A community tool to detect the use of AI-generated content on the internet through polling.
ABOUT: AI-generated content is rising (often dubbed "slop"). And while there's debate as to how much space AI content should share with human-made content, people have a right to know what they're consuming. If you've ever felt like there's just too much AI content online, you can help others identify it using SlopWatch, a community-driven Chrome extension. Unlike many other extensions, SlopWatch doesn't itself use AI, rather it relies on internet-savvy people such as yourself to pick out content that's AI-generated. HOW IT WORKS: From any webpage, simply open the extension and sign in with your Google account to rate a webpage. If you believe that a page contains AI content, you can include special tags that specify exactly which kinds of AI content you believe are present on the page. Ratings are aggregated and converted to a Slop Score that indicates the likelihood that the content is AI-generated, with some leeway for creators who are honest about it. A popup will appear on the bottom right whenever you load a page that's been rated by other users, so that you don't have to open the extension to check.
