Overview

A line-drawn spider crawls the page you're on, eats the AI-writing tells it finds and gets fatter. Ends on a 0-100 slop score.

A small line-drawn spider crawls the page you're on and eats the phrases that read like a chatbot wrote them. Each one makes it fatter. When it's done, the page gets a score from 0 to 100. Works on any website: click the spider icon in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+S. On LinkedIn it adds three small buttons: • Check this post. Click "…more" on a post to check just that post. • Check the comments. Open a thread and every comment gets its own score. • Check for slop. Pause while writing a post, comment or message and check your own draft before you publish. Your text is never changed. It looks for about 350 habits of machine-written text: the not-this-but-that formula, fake suspense hooks, stock openers about fast-moving times, stacked hashtags, emoji bullet lists and the generic praise replies that fill comment sections. The list comes from published research on AI-written text, Wikipedia's guide to signs of AI writing, and editors who clean it up for a living. It spots habits. It can't prove who wrote something, and people write "seamless" too. Read the score as a nudge and nothing more. Everything runs inside your browser. Nothing you read or write is sent anywhere. There's no account and no tracking. After the score the spider sticks around: walk it with the arrow keys or let it follow your mouse. Press Esc to send it home. Right-click the icon for settings: a black-page mode, live mode for feeds, and the LinkedIn buttons on or off.
