Overview

Hide AI-generated slop on LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Google AI Overviews. On-device AI — your feed never leaves your device.

Slopguard — your feed, guarded. Your timeline is drowning in AI slop: hustle-bro "here's what my Uber driver taught me about leadership" posts, engagement-bait listicles, generic AI motivation, and the unmistakable ChatGPT cadence ("Certainly! It's important to note… In conclusion… I hope this helps!") that now floods posts and replies. And every Google search opens with an AI Overview you never asked for. Slopguard hides all of it — quietly, on the feeds you actually use, with AI that runs entirely on your own device. WHAT IT DOES • Hides AI-generated slop in your feed on LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and Reddit. • Removes the Google AI Overview from search results — your normal organic results are left untouched. • Works on ANY site you add: use the visual element picker (hover & click, like an ad blocker) or type a CSS selector, then hide that element outright or send it through the AI filter. • Three modes: Hide (collapse with a "show" link), Blur (reveal on click), or Mark (a calm amber frame). Your choice. • Three strength levels: Relaxed, Balanced, Aggressive. • Optional — hide low-value comments: one-word reactions, generic praise, dismissive quips, emoji-only noise. WHY SLOPGUARD IS DIFFERENT • A real on-device model, not regex. Most "slop" tools just match em-dashes or keyword lists and end up hiding everything. Slopguard pairs a fast rules engine with Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model for the borderline calls — better judgment, far fewer false positives. • Private by design. Your feed never leaves your browser. No cloud, no server reading your posts, no account, no API token to paste. (Cloud-based filters send your timeline to their backend — Slopguard never does.) • It also kills Google AI Overviews — something the slop-blockers don't do. • Free and open source (MIT). You can read every line of code that runs in your browser. • Scoped permissions. Slopguard only touches the sites it supports. The "any site" feature asks for access to that one domain, and only when you add it — never "all your data on all websites" by default. HOW IT WORKS Open LinkedIn, X, Reddit or a Google search. Slopguard reads each post, runs the instant rules, and sends only the ambiguous ones to Gemini Nano — on your device. Slop gets hidden, blurred, or framed by your choice, and a quiet placeholder lets you reveal anything in one click. If Gemini Nano isn't available (older Chrome, model not yet downloaded), the rules engine keeps working on its own. GREAT FOR Anyone tired of AI slop — LinkedIn users buried in engagement bait and growth-hacking posts, X and Reddit scrollers, knowledge workers who just want a calmer feed, and privacy-minded people who'd rather an AI filter never see their data in the first place. ALTERNATIVE TO Looking for an alternative to AI Slop Blocker, cloud-based social-media filters, or single-platform LinkedIn slop detectors? Slopguard is the free, open-source, on-device option that hides AI slop on LinkedIn, X and Reddit with a real model — not a brittle em-dash heuristic — removes Google AI Overviews, and filters any site you add. COMMON USES hide AI slop on LinkedIn · block AI-generated posts · clean up your LinkedIn feed · hide engagement bait and clickbait · turn off / remove the Google AI Overview · filter ChatGPT prose · hide AI content on Reddit and X · filter low-value comments · hide elements on any website · a distraction-free, calmer feed · a private, on-device AI content filter. PRIVACY & PERMISSIONS • storage — your settings, per-site toggles, daily counts, and a short-lived local cache (a one-way hash of post text, never the text itself). • tabs / activeTab — message the page and launch the element picker on your current tab. • scripting — run the same filter on custom sites you add yourself. • alarms — periodic selector/rule refresh. • Host access to the supported sites — to read and hide posts there. Optional host access is requested only when you add your own site, and only for that domain. Slopguard never sends your posts, identity, or browsing history anywhere. No third-party analytics, no trackers. The backend serves only selector/rule updates and (opt-in, off by default) anonymous aggregate counts. Slopguard. Your feed, guarded — on your device.
