Slonke - Watch Party

Watch videos together on any site: synced playback, voice & video calls, and live chat. One link, two people.

Slonke syncs video playback between exactly two people. You start a party on whatever you're watching, send one link, and the other person lands on the same video at the same timestamp. Play, pause, seek, and speed changes carry over in both directions. It works on YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, and most other sites with a standard video player. Sites I haven't written a dedicated adapter for fall back to a generic one that handles the common cases. Voice and video calling is built in. It runs peer to peer over WebRTC, so the call never touches my server. The server only relays the connection handshake, never audio or video. Chat lives in a side drawer that shrinks the page instead of sitting on top of your video. In fullscreen, everything collapses into a small pill that hides itself until you need it. No accounts. No signup, no email, no password, no cookies. A party exists while you're both in it and is deleted the moment either of you leaves. Invite links expire with the party and can't be reused. If you want an extra lock on the door, you can set a PIN on the room. For slow nights there are small games in the chat, like co-op Wordle, Connect Four, tic-tac-toe, and a shared whiteboard. All optional, all ignorable. What Slonke doesn't do, so you find out here instead of after installing: It's desktop Chrome only. No phones, no tablets, no Firefox or Safari. It syncs playback but does not stream the video itself. The video still comes from the streaming site, so on Netflix and other paid services both people need their own subscription. Two people is a hard limit. It's built for couples and long-distance friends, not a channel for twelve coworkers. I built this because my other half and I live in different places and every existing option wanted an account, a Discord server, or a subscription.
