Summarize a YouTube video and ask questions about it, without watching it.

Skim reads a YouTube video's transcript, writes a structured summary of it, and then answers your questions about what the video says — so you never have to watch it. What you can do: • Summarize a video in one click, from the YouTube page or from the toolbar • Ask follow-up questions and get answers grounded in what the video actually says • Choose the language of your summaries, independently of the video's language • Write your own summarizing instructions and save them as profiles: a short format for news, a detailed one for a conference talk How to use it: 1. Open the settings and paste the API key of the AI provider you choose. 2. Open a YouTube video, then click the summarize button. 3. Read the summary in the side panel, and ask your questions underneath. You use your own API key: Skim resells no subscription and adds no middleman. Your provider bills you, for what you use. Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and OpenCode Zen are supported. Privacy: the extension has no server. Your keys, your settings and your conversations stay on your device. The transcript and your questions are sent only to the AI provider you chose, with your key. No analytics, no tracker.
