Overview

Turn any YouTube video into a Claude Code skill — search, generate, and download without leaving the browser.

SkillitHub turns expert knowledge from YouTube into a Claude Code skill you can reuse in any project. The extension works entirely in a popup. Search YouTube, pull a transcript, and generate a skill without leaving your tab. A "Skill it" button also appears under every YouTube video. How it works 1. Open a YouTube video that explains a method, framework, or workflow. 2. Click the orange "Skill it" button below the player, or the toolbar icon. 3. The transcript is extracted right there, with no account needed. 4. Create your free account, then say what the skill should focus on. 5. SkillitHub writes the skill and downloads SKILL.md automatically. Drop the file into ~/.claude/skills/ and Claude Code picks it up. You can close the popup at any point. The work keeps running in the background. Everything you typed is saved, so you continue exactly where you stopped. What you can skill - Copywriting and sales frameworks, such as offers, persuasion, and cold outreach - Marketing playbooks, including launch strategies, funnel walkthroughs, and ad scripts - Coding tutorials, for any pattern or architecture explained on video - Productivity systems, such as workflows, SOPs, and decision frameworks - Any video where someone explains a repeatable method Pricing Creating an account is free, and so are 5 skills to start — no payment method required. Searching YouTube and extracting transcripts are always free. Need more? Plans start at $9 per month, or $49 per year, for 300 skills a month, with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start that trial, and you can cancel any time before day seven. Permissions - storage: keeps you signed in between popup opens, and saves your work in progress so closing the popup never loses it - host permission for youtube.com: injects the "Skill it" button on watch pages, and reads the active tab URL only when it is a YouTube video This extension does not read your browsing history. It does not collect personal data. It does not run in the background on other sites. Version 2.4.2 - New accounts now start with 5 free skills, no card required — generate right away instead of hitting a paywall first. - Opening SkillitHub from the extension (to see pricing or My Skills) no longer asks you to sign in again — it carries your session over automatically. - Fixed: the skills-remaining counter in the popup now updates right after you generate a skill, instead of showing your count from before. - No new permissions. Still only storage and youtube.com.
