Ever land on a website and wonder who's actually behind it? SiteStory shows you the story in one click. Click the toolbar icon (or right-click any page and choose "Show SiteStory for this site") to see: - When the company was founded - Who founded it - The current CEO - Headquarters location - A short summary, pulled from Wikipedia SiteStory looks up the current site's name on Wikipedia and Wikidata — the same structured, crowd-verified data that powers Google's info panels — and shows the result in a clean, readable card. Results are cached locally for 24 hours, so revisiting a site you've already checked is instant. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO - It doesn't track your browsing. It only reads the page you're on when you click the icon or use the right-click menu. - It doesn't collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. All caching happens locally in your own browser. - It only works for organizations that have a Wikipedia article — smaller or newer sites may not return a result, and that's intentional: SiteStory would rather say "no record found" than guess and show you something wrong. HOW IT WORKS 1. Reads the domain of the site you're currently on (only when you invoke the extension — no background activity). 2. Searches Wikipedia for a matching organization. 3. Pulls founding date, founder, CEO, and headquarters from that organization's Wikidata entry, when available. Open source data in, clean answers out. No sign-up, no accounts, no ads.
