SiteHandoff checks a website the way a careful colleague would, just before you hand it to a client - and finds the things that are embarrassing on delivery day. Twenty tools will tell you a meta description is missing. None of them tell you the "Request a quote" button goes nowhere, that there is still Lorem Ipsum in the About page, or that the contact form is posting to localhost. WHAT IT CHECKS 40 checks across seven areas, run on the page you are looking at: - Content - Lorem Ipsum, TODO and FIXME notes, "coming soon" copy, info@example.com, dead links, placeholder images - Forms - actions going nowhere, forms submitting over plain HTTP, fields that are never submitted, forms with no submit button, endpoints still pointing at staging - Technical - missing viewport, a noindex tag left over from staging, mixed content, links to localhost or a staging domain, character encoding - SEO - title, description, canonical, title length, single H1, heading order, social sharing preview - Accessibility - images without alt text, unnamed links and buttons, unlabelled fields, untitled iframes, duplicate IDs, page language - Performance - images without dimensions, lazy loading, render-blocking scripts - Tracking - which analytics and pixels are actually installed Plus four checks that only make sense across a whole site: duplicate titles, duplicate descriptions, internal links that 404, and internal links that go through a redirect. SEVEN LANGUAGES Placeholder copy is recognised in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Dutch. "Sito in costruzione", "en construcción" and "Website im Aufbau" matter as much as "under construction" to whoever is handing the site over - and every phrase was tested against tens of thousands of words of real newspaper prose in that language, so it stays quiet on ordinary copy. THE WHOLE SITE, NOT JUST ONE PAGE Press "Scan whole site" and SiteHandoff crawls the site, checks every page it finds, and scores the site by its *worst* page - because a site with one broken page is not 96% ready, it has a broken page. It asks permission for that one site first, respects robots.txt, and offers to hand the permission back when it is done. A REPORT YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEND One HTML file, generated on your computer, with your name on it. Every problem explained in plain language: what it is, why it matters, and how to fix it. Open it in any browser or print it to PDF. No scripts, no tracking, nothing loaded from anywhere - so it is safe to email to a client. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER There is no account, no sign-up and no server. Audits run entirely inside your browser. No page content, no report and no URL is ever uploaded - not to us, not to anyone. The extension installs with no access to any website. It asks for the page you are on only when you click its icon, and for a whole site only when you start a scan. Passwords, form values and anything that looks like a credential are redacted before they can reach a result or a report. CURRENTLY IN BETA Every feature is unlocked while SiteHandoff is in testing: unlimited crawling, the client report, your name on it. No account, no payment, no trial clock. When it leaves beta there will be a free plan and a paid one. The free plan keeps the single-page audit with every check, a 25-page crawl and the local report - with no account and no server, permanently. ONE HONEST LIMITATION Accessibility results are automated checks only. They catch common, real mistakes, but no automated tool can establish WCAG compliance and this one does not claim to. Manual testing is still required.
