Site Time Limiter helps parents set healthy daily time limits on specific websites. Pick a site and a number of minutes per day. When your child reaches the limit, the site is replaced with a friendly "time's up" screen until the next day. Your settings are protected by a parental PIN so they can't be changed or removed. Need to bend the rules once? Grant extra minutes for today — right from the block screen or the settings — without changing the daily limit. The bonus resets at midnight. FEATURES • Per-site daily limits (e.g. youtube.com = 30 minutes/day). Subdomains count toward the same limit. • Smart, media-aware tracking: for video sites the timer runs while a video is playing — even in a background tab — and pauses when the video is paused. Non-video pages count while open. • No double-counting: two tabs of the same site share one timer. • Automatic block screen when the daily limit is reached; resets at midnight. • Grant extra time: top up a site for today (from the block screen or settings) without changing the daily limit. • PIN-protected parental settings (the PIN is stored only as a salted hash). • Clean popup showing today's usage per site with progress bars. • Light and dark themes. PRIVACY FIRST Everything stays on your device. The extension makes no network requests and sends no data to anyone — no analytics, no trackers, no ads. It never reads the content of the pages you visit. FOR STRONGER ENFORCEMENT Because any browser extension can be turned off by whoever controls the browser, this is best used as a guidance-and-friction layer. For tamper-resistant enforcement, it supports Chrome's managed-policy force-install and read-only managed limits. Pair it with an OS-level control (Screen Time, Family Link) for a real wall.
