Saves each download into a folder chosen by the website you are on, not the CDN the file comes from.
Site Sort saves every download into a folder named for the website you are on. Download a photo on Facebook and it goes to Downloads/Facebook. Grab a PDF from a client portal and it goes to Downloads/Work/Clients/ABC. No more digging through one giant Downloads folder. WHY IT WORKS WHERE OTHERS DON'T Most download organizers look at the address of the file itself. That breaks on the sites people use most: Facebook serves files from fbcdn.net, Instagram from cdninstagram.com, and many sites hand off to Google Drive, Amazon S3 or a CDN. A rule for "facebook.com" never fires. Site Sort looks at the site in your tab instead. If the page you are on is facebook.com, the file goes to your Facebook folder, wherever it is actually served from. FEATURES - Add a rule for the current site in two clicks from the toolbar popup - One rule can cover several sites, so facebook.com and messenger.com share a folder - Subdomains are included automatically: facebook.com also covers m.facebook.com - Nested folders like Work/Clients/ABC - Date folders with {year}, {month}, {day} and {date}, plus {site} - Choose what happens on sites without a rule: leave the file alone, send it to one folder, or give each site its own folder - Optional offer to create a rule the first time you download from a new site - Log of your last 50 downloads showing the detected site and the folder used - "Try a site" checker shows where a download would land before you rely on it - Starter rules suggested from sites you already download from - Import and export your rules as a file - Rules sync between your computers through your own Chrome profile - Light and dark themes - Keyboard shortcut: Alt+Shift+S opens the popup PRIVATE BY DESIGN Site Sort has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. It makes no network requests. Your rules and download log stay in your browser. GOOD TO KNOW - Chrome only lets extensions create folders inside your Downloads folder. To save to another drive, change Chrome's download location in Settings › Downloads, and Site Sort's folders will be created there. - If "Ask where to save each file" is on in Chrome, the Save dialog opens with Site Sort's folder already filled in. - Chrome follows only one extension's filename suggestion, so run one download organizer at a time. - Only new downloads are sorted. Files already on disk are not moved. - To use Site Sort in Incognito windows, turn on "Allow in Incognito" in chrome://extensions.
