Overview
Save a web page as a local design reference with a JPEG, scroll video, HTML, and design tokens.
Collect web design inspiration and UI references for yourself and your AI agent. Site Dossier saves a webpage as a local bundle with a full-page screenshot, scroll video, HTML snapshot, design tokens, and notes and tags that explain what you like and what you want to create. BUILT WITH AGENTS IN MIND A screenshot shows how a page looks. The accompanying video, HTML snapshot, and design tokens give you and your agent more context about its layout, visual details, and interactions. Your notes explain why you saved it and which ideas matter to your project. Build a reference collection that helps an agent understand your taste and the direction you want to explore. Use selected references when discussing a brief, developing a visual direction, or implementing an original design. Each bundle keeps the source URL alongside the captured material. Give your agent access to selected local bundles or share the files through your own workflow. What an agent can use depends on its file and media support. You choose what to share; Site Dossier does not automatically send captures to an AI service. NOTES AND TAGS EXPLAIN YOUR INTENT Tell your agent what caught your attention. For example: - "Study the generous spacing and restrained color palette." - "Use this navigation behavior as a reference for our mobile menu." - "Aim for this level of typographic hierarchy with our own branding." Tags such as typography, navigation, motion, or a project name give references consistent labels for your own or your agent's workflow. Together, notes and tags help explain what you are after and how each reference relates to your project. AUTO CAPTURE Click Start auto capture. Site Dossier scrolls the page, records video, and collects screenshot tiles in one pass. It stops at the bottom or around the 30-second limit, then saves to your selected folder. MANUAL RECORDING Use Manual for menus, animations, and other interactions. Drive the page yourself and press Stop on the page control or in the popup. After Stop, the page scrolls once to take screenshots, then returns to your position. Manual recording has a three-minute safety limit. YOUR LOCAL REFERENCE BUNDLE - Full-page screenshot (JPEG), subject to page and capture limits - WebM scroll or interaction video - Contact sheet when video decoding succeeds - Best-effort HTML snapshot - Design tokens, including a color palette, typography, spacing, and other style details - Source URL, capture metadata, and optional notes and tags Capture the responsive mobile layout by narrowing your Chrome window below 768 pixels. Desktop and mobile captures of the same URL on the same day are saved in separate folders inside the same bundle. Each capture uses the current window size; it does not automatically capture both sizes or emulate a mobile device. LOCAL BY DESIGN Choose the output folder yourself. Site Dossier processes the selected page URL, screenshots, video, page content and styles, and your notes/tags only to create your requested local bundle. It has no account, telemetry, advertising, or developer-operated upload service. A folder synced by your own cloud-storage software may sync according to your settings. Review captures for private or sensitive page content before sharing them with an agent or anyone else. INSPIRATION FOR ORIGINAL WORK Site Dossier is intended for collecting references, studying design, and developing work of your own. We encourage learning from layout, typography, color, motion, and interaction patterns, then applying those ideas to your own goals and identity. Please avoid copying entire designs, branding, imagery, or code for republishing as your own. Respect creators, applicable licenses, and site terms. Capturing a reference does not grant permission to reuse its content or assets. Preserve the original source and credit inspiration where appropriate. BEFORE YOU CAPTURE Keep the captured tab active until Saved appears. On Windows, select a subfolder inside Desktop or Documents. The folder picker can open slowly on some systems. The camera control stays visible and appears in the JPEG and video. Long pages, custom scrolling, or canvas pages may produce partial screenshots. Saved HTML is a reference, not a guaranteed offline copy; inspect it in a code editor. Open the ? button for a quick guide. The popup follows your system theme. Site Dossier's code is free and open source under MIT. No login or subscription required.
