Overview

Edit, review and comment on your app's translations right on your website, and capture screenshots as context for translators.

SimpleLocalize In-Context Chrome Extension lets you work on translations where your users see them: on your website or web app. Open a page of your app and the extension outlines every translated text, colored by what it needs. Click a text to open it in Chrome's side panel, change it, accept it or ask a question about it, without hunting for keys in files or switching to another tool. WHAT YOU CAN DO • See translations in context: every translated text on the page is outlined by its status (accepted, needs review, not translated, or missing in your project) • Edit translations: change a text in the side panel and see it on the page right away • Review faster: accept translations one by one, or all translations shown on the page at once, and see who accepted a translation and when • Comment and explain: read and add comments, and edit key descriptions so translators know how a text is used • Capture screenshots: press Ctrl+Shift+S to capture the page and attach the screenshot to the keys in view, as context for translators and AI translation • Find keys fast: search and filter the translations on the page, and open any key in the SimpleLocalize Translation Editor BUILT FOR TEAMS Every action follows your role and permissions in the project. Translators change only the languages they work on, reviewers accept translations, and developers manage keys and screenshots. WORKS WITH YOUR APP The extension recognizes translations by the data-translation-key attribute, or by their text in the page's language, so it works with any i18n library. Add one element to your page (for example, on staging) to tell the extension which project and language it shows: <div data-simplelocalize-project-token="YOUR_PROJECT_TOKEN" data-simplelocalize-language="de" hidden></div> PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Runs only on websites you enable • Your personal access token stays in your browser • Talks only to the SimpleLocalize API, with no analytics or tracking GET STARTED 1. Install the extension and sign in with a personal access token from your SimpleLocalize account 2. Open your website and click "Enable" 3. Click "Show translations" and start editing New to SimpleLocalize? It's a translation management platform for software teams.
