Detects phone numbers on web pages and dials them via tel:, using your system's default phone application.

SimpleDial turns phone numbers on web pages into one-click calls, placed through whatever phone app or softphone your computer already uses. WHAT IT DOES • Right-click a telephone link or a selected phone number and choose "Call <number>" to place the call. • Or have the call go to your mobile instead: switch on the QR code option and SimpleDial shows a code you scan with your phone's camera to dial it there. • Click the toolbar icon to open your phone app directly — or switch it to a small panel where you can type a number that isn't on the page. • Calls are opened through the standard tel: address, so they reach your system's default phone handler: a desk softphone, a mobile-linked dialer, Skype, or whatever you have set up. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT • Because SimpleDial starts the call itself, your browser asks permission to open your phone app only once — not separately for every website. • You decide what counts as a phone number with a customizable recognition rule, and you can test it live in the options page. • Choose the scheme your softphone expects: tel:, callto:, sip: or skype:. • Call from your phone without pairing anything: no account, no companion app, no Bluetooth — just a QR code your camera already knows how to read. The code is built on your own computer; the number is never uploaded anywhere. PRIVACY SimpleDial does not collect, store, or send any personal data. It has no servers and makes no network connections. Your settings stay on your device. It reads only the link or text you right-click, and it never modifies the pages you visit. PERMISSIONS • "Read your data on all websites" — used only to read the phone number in the link or text selection you right-click. Phone numbers can appear on any site, so this cannot be limited to a fixed list. Nothing is written to pages and nothing leaves your device. • Local storage — keeps your options (recognition rule, dialing scheme, toolbar-icon behavior) saved between sessions. Not synced to any account. HOW TO USE 1. Install the extension. 2. On the first call, your browser asks which app should open tel: links — pick your phone app and confirm. It won't ask again. 3. Right-click any phone link or highlighted number and choose "Call". 4. To call from your mobile instead, turn on "Call from your phone with a QR code" in the options. Each call then opens a small window with a code: point your phone's camera at it and the call starts there. The window also shows the number, and a button to place the call from this computer after all. 5. Adjust recognition, scheme and the toolbar-icon behavior from the same options page (right-click the icon → Options).
