I had to disable the extension because I wasn't able to use google auth to log into any of my site servers.
This was helpful, thanks - we hit a few issues with the latest update and decided to rollback to fix them all. The next update should avoid this issue.

Had to uninstall, the new plugin forces the button on all tabs. Yes, you can disable it by clicking the extension in the bar, but whenever you reload or navigate the page; it re-appears. There is no option to change the default setting. Furthermore, it breaks sites like youtube where it starts playing a second copy of the video in the background. It also messes around with added scroll bars in full screen mode. This made web browsing very unpleasant.
Thanks for letting us know, that wasn't intentional. We rolled back to the previous version of the extension to fix these problems, the next update should resolve them permanently.

I love the plugin but with the recent update a button is forever visible on the side of the screen. Not really good. I can't even disable it.
Hi Priyank, we're glad you're loving our extension! You can hide the button by closing the extension from the 'Extensions' menu in Chrome (we recommend pinning it for easy access!). I hope this helps 🙂

The test does not correctly take into account the text shadow, which significantly improves the contrast. I asked an acquaintance from my vocational training who has very poor eyesight and the answer was that the text is very easy to read with the text shadow.
I agree that text shadow can be used to dramatically increase contrast. Unfortunately the accessibility standard we're testing against (WCAG) doesn't officially have a position on this, as it was written long before that CSS property existed. And WCAG is pretty much the rulebook we have to follow - it's what all laws and regulations are written to. Shadows are conceptually very hard to test, and we don't believe anyone has ever managed it before. We'd need to render all the pixels of a font, and consider all of their edges; even if that were practical WCAG doesn't have a model for evaluating this (e.g. if one pixel was below contrast, would you care? Probably not, but WCAG doesn't have a model for contrast beyond strict pass/fail). WCAG 3 _might_ change this, but that's some way away. Genius. You have made accessibility testing fun! All the most needed things in one place. I particularly love the slimmed down web page only screen reader. Wrestling with desktop screen reader is difficult as a sighted person trying to code at the same time as test. The no-nonsense videos and suggested solutions are excellent. Thank you. I did my own video review too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLAAs6upFj8
